Reporting to IT Manager

We are looking to recruit an IT Technician to work for the Kite Academy Trust across multiple academies, starting as soon as possible. The role will be to provide technical support to our 10 academies and central team as part of a team across the Trust.

The position will be 36 hours, 52 weeks a year with 24 days leave. The salary scale is Kite Pay Tier 3 £20,321 - £26,500, depending on experience, with performance related pay to allow progression.

This post holder will work with the IT Manager and other IT technicians within the Kite-wide team providing IT support across ten academies. This will include looking after academy networks, installing and maintaining software and hardware, VoIP telecoms, email support and maintenance, updating academy websites and providing technical support to staff.

You will need excellent general technological knowledge including Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, Sophos, Office 365 Administration and good in-depth experience of working with existing and new hardware. The ability to work at a low network level is also an advantage.

We are looking for an organised, dynamic but methodical candidate with good problem solving and communication skills. This will be a busy role and, while you are part of a team, you will predominantly be working within an academy as the only IT technician; you will need to be able to work flexibly under pressure, prioritise and use your initiative. If you haven’t worked within a school environment, this isn’t essential and we will support your integration into this rewarding and interesting field. You will, however, require an awareness of safeguarding and health and safety issues in schools.

All of our academies are local to and within a 10-mile radius of Kite Central which is based at Holly Lodge Primary Academy. While the academies are close to each other and Kite Central, it is essential for this post holder to have access to their own transport.
