Salary: Little Thinkers Pay Scale £10.50 per hour

Hours per week: Full time, 37 hours per week

Our setting is based in North End and provides pre-school and 0-5 childcare for not only our local community but for those further afield. We are a close team of staff who thrive on teamwork and challenge and are looking for someone who is as passionate about transforming the lives of our children as we are. We are on the New Horizons Primary School site and aim to provide children with an excellent quality of care and provision.

As a nursery practitioner, you will be part of a team who are responsible for providing first class care to children within the local community.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 2 or 3 NVQ in Childcare and experience in working in a nursery
  • Have a solid knowledge of the EYFS
  • Have an up-to-date Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene (full training provided if you do not possess those certificates)
  • Need a clear and valid DBS 
  • Be flexible with start and finishing times
  • Have impeccable interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively to colleagues of all levels of seniority

As part of your professional development, we expect all colleagues to undertake and continue their training, undergoing a relevant qualification to your position is paramount in order to broaden your knowledge and build upon your skills to help you in your role. 
 

Your Duties & Responsibilities will involve:

  • Ensure that suitable opportunities, activities and resources are provided for all the children relevant to their age/stage and development needs to the requirements of external organisations.
  • Have a key group of children, be responsible for their development within nursey, plan activities to move their learning forward and observe and report on their progress. 
  • Communicate with parents and give feedback regarding their child’s day, hold parents meetings to discuss key children’s development and be the point of contact for your key children’s parents for all general queries. 
  • Work as part of a team to develop the room and continuously assess and improve the provision for our children. 
  • To be committed to the safeguarding of all children in the nursery and in your direct care.
