Salary: TSAT Pay Group 3 £22,818 - £26,997 FTE - pro rata to £20,042 - £23,713 for hours and weeks stated - Please note this is subject to agreement in line with September 2022 salary increases but the amounts shown are a minimum of what you will earn 

Hours per week: 37 hours per week, term time only + 5 days

Start date: ASAP

Contract: Permanent

 We are seeking to appoint a Science Technician  to provide high quality technical, administrative and maintenance support to the busy Science faculty. You will provide general, practical support in our laboratories and support our Science Teachers. 

Experience of laboratory practice In a school environment would be an advantage, although training will be given. The ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines is crucial.

Your new role:

  • You will prepare equipment and materials as requested in clean, safe working conditions, for use by teachers and students.  
  • Pprovide practical support in Science lessons and for less experienced staff trailing practical’s ahead of time   
  • Support the science department, including assisting in practical classes, carrying out demonstrations, preparing resources, assembling apparatus.  
  • Offer technical advice to teachers, technicians and pupils/students.  
  • Carry out risk assessments for technician activities.  
  • Be responsible  for the promotion and observance of a healthy & safe working environment
