Salary: TSAT Grade B £18,035 (Pro rata for hours and weeks stated £6,190 per annum)

Contract: Maternity Contract, term time only 39 weeks a year, 15 hours a week

We require a School Librarian to join Newbridge Junior SchoolWe are looking for someone to take pride in placing the library at the heart of the school’s learning community and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in reading.  


This role will involve undertaking the responsibility of promoting a love of reading to pupils across the school. You will work 3 hours daily, 10.30am to 1.30pm, Monday to Friday in the school library. 


The successful candidate will have a passion for literacy and reading along with possessing excellent organisational skills!


As Librarian you will:

  • Supervise and support pupils to select and put away books
  • Use the Junior librarian system 
  • Meet with parents and pupils after school to help them to use the library
  • Develop the library space to promote a love of reading
  • Use accelerated reader to target pupils who are not reading
  • Promote the library across the school community
  • General library admin work
  • Work closely with the school library service to select stock and promote reading
  • Making recommendations about suitable authors and books to children of different ages and abilities


Requirements:

The role is suitable for someone who has a love of reading and children’s literature. Someone who has experience of working with children and their parents.
