Mobile Facilities Manager

Salary: TSAT Grade E – £26,821 - £29,571 per annum 

Location: Plymouth

Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year 

Start Date: ASAP

We are looking to appoint a Facilities Manager, who will be based at Plymouth High School for Girls. Plymouth High School for Girls will be joining the Thinking Schools Academy trust in early 2021 and this is an opportunity for a promising candidate to begin a vital role at this important time.

The successful post-holder will manage the utilisation of school premises, ensuring that they are secure, safe and well-maintained. This will involve management of Health and Safety procedures, management of cleaning, overseeing maintenance programmes and ensuring that budgets are monitored accordingly. 

You will line manage site staff and cleaners, and oversee general security arrangements, as well as prioritising and delegating tasks using a CAFM software. You will also manage the shift system, ensuring that all requirements both in and out-of-hours are taken into consideration. You will work with the Head of Estates and Health & Safety, to monitor capital projects taking place.

Your new role:

Your core hours will be 7.30am – 3.30pm with some flexibility required to cover shifts. 

There will also be some flexibility needed for school events plus weekend working. You will be part of a team required to maintain and care for the school and its grounds. 


What you will need to succeed:

  • Previously worked in a similar environment 
  • Practical skills in maintenance and cleaning 
  • Full clean driving licence with access to own transport 
  • A MIDAS licence is preferred (or be prepared to undertake the necessary training to obtain one) 
  • Experience of working within an Academy/School is desirable, along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office
