We are a successful and growing school, which is currently going through a period of expansion. In order to support our continued growth we are looking to expand our team of creative, supportive and dynamic staff by appointing an Inclusive Provision Manager to start at The Portsmouth Academy in September 2020.

The Portsmouth Academy is a ‘Good’ school with outstanding leadership and management.

The Inclusive Provision Manager is an exciting new role for The Portsmouth Academy. The opening of our brand new on site Inclusive Provision Department has been many years in the planning. We are delighted that we will be able to offer our students a warm and welcoming hub which will support both their academic, and their social and emotional needs to truly transform their life chances. The successful candidate will be highly involved in the shaping of this new provision and will provide clear leadership and vision for the department, building an ethos of excellence through the delivery of an alternative curriculum.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Experience of working within a school, or educational setting. 
  • The ability to form high quality, professional relationships with students. 
  • A relentless drive on high standards of pupil progress and behaviour within the context of the Inclusive Provision for Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and within Internal Exclusion. 
  • The leadership and management skills to effectively design and coordinate a range of alternative provision pathways for a variety of students within KS3, 4 and Internal Exclusion. 
  • The ability to lead and manage the Inclusive Provision Department and staff attached to it, defining a clear process for students to engage with their curriculum and reflective practices around their behaviour.
  • The necessary reflective skills to effectively evaluate strategies utilised within the Inclusive Provision Department and to build this culture within the team and across the school for the students who access the provision. 
  • Be able to effectively liaise with all stakeholders including; SLT, teaching and support staff, students, parents and relevant outside agencies. 
  • Be able to communicate with clarity and precision.
