Job Description

£20,746 actual pro rata salary based on Pt 3

This is a highly rewarding and challenging role. We are looking for individuals that are supportive, non-judgmental, patient, emotionally available, positive and flexible. You must be able to speak to students in a manner which encourages and supports them, enabling you to build trusting relationships. LSAs support students in class, in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.

Students may have a variety of SEND needs that fall into the following categories of: Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Physical and Sensory Needs and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH). Our LSAs work with students of all abilities and levels of need. Students with physical disabilities may need help with mobility and accessing materials, for example and students with SEMH needs may need support with emotional regulation.

You need to be a responsible and organised person. We would really be interested in receiving an application from you if you:

• Are curious about and have an understanding how children develop, think and learn
• Are able to create safe, inclusive and supporting learning experiences that promote student well-being and independence
• Are able to develop and implement Learning Plans in collaboration with teaching staff and the SENCo
• Have a passion for every student achieving beyond what they might have thought possible
• Have an awareness of how technology can enhance learning opportunities and be confident in using IT themselves
• Have good communications skills so would feel confident in providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers on student progress
• Have a strong commitment to safeguarding
• Have a determination to secure positive progress and have high aspirations for all students
• Are committed to nurture a child’s happiness and enjoyment of school and life
• Are enthusiastic with a good sense of humour and team player able to develop good relationships with the people they work with
• Can build positive relationships with pupils
