Invigilators are required to assist the Exams department, during term time, by ensuring exams are conducted in an appropriate manner within a correct time frame by supervising students and ensuring exam regulations are being met at all times.
A good command of written and spoken English is essential for this role, together with an ability to communicate confidently with both staff and pupils.
Exam invigilators are engaged on a casual basis and paid on a claim form for the hours worked on a monthly basis. The current hourly rate of pay inclusive of holiday pay is £12.82.
Invigilation is on an ad-hoc basis. Hours of employment will vary greatly throughout the examination periods which are currently January to June and November and December, with mandatory annual training in September.
Exact dates and times would be agreed prior to each examination season dependent on the work available and the availability of the invigilator. This role would therefore suit those looking for flexible working hours during the busy examination season as well as several other times throughout the academic year.
