Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8.15am - 3.15pm with a 30 minute unpaid break.


We have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join the team at Kenyngton Manor Primary School. The postholder will provide and deliver learning activities for whole classes of pupils under the professional supervision of a qualified teacher. You will be working within the framework set by the teacher, to contribute effectively to the planning and preparation of lessons and undertaking the HLTA’s roles in these.

Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and listening skills with a commitment to helping.

HLTA status is essential (consideration will also be given to candidates looking to gain their HLTA qualification) and must be obtained under the national TTA scheme for HLTA assessment (in order to gain HLTA status it is essential that the candidates have a qualification in English/Literacy or Maths/Numeracy at NVQ Level 2 or equivalent within the National Qualifications framework).

Higher Level Teaching Assistants will have undertaken a range of professional development activities in aspects of learning support and are likely to hold teaching assistant qualifications at NVQ Levels 3 or 4 of the National Qualifications framework.

Kenyngton Manor Primary School is a two-form entry with a PAN of 60. We have approximately 400 pupils aged 2-11, this includes the part-time pre-school and nursery provision. There are 200 children in the infants including our reception classes and 170 children in the junior department. The nursery/pre-school provisions offers children and families a stimulating, well-resourced base in which to prepare for school readiness. We have excellent facilities, well equipped classrooms and well maintained outdoor play areas. The average class size is 26 and staff work in year group teams to collaboratively plan and deliver high quality lessons. Teaching assistants are highly skilled and play a critical role is supporting teachers and play a critical role in securing outstanding progress in pupils’ learning.
