We are looking for an enthusiastic and personable Local Governance Co-ordinator to join our Governance team in supporting the Local Governance Boards (LGBs) of our Special Phase schools within The Howard Partnership Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is seeking both the flexibility of part-time hours within term time, combined with the challenge that comes with working in the ever-changing world of education.

Previous experience including management of panel hearings and good administration skills would be a distinct advantage.

Duties will cover the organisation and management of Governor meetings. These currently take place 4 times per year during term time, lasting approximately two hours either before or after school hours although this can vary, and some flexibility is required. On occasion you may be asked to provide ad-hoc cover for additional school meetings and cover for other schools within the Trust.

You will be responsible for drafting agendas, producing accurate and concise minutes of meetings, maintaining information on membership and advising the LGB on procedural matters, where appropriate. You will also act as the key point of contact for Governors and the Senior Leadership Team. Integrity, excellent organisational, communication and IT skills, together with the ability to maintain confidentiality are a must.
Competitive rates of pay and full training will be given, with further development and ongoing support available via our Partnership Clerking & Governance Manager. There will also be opportunities for regular networking with other Governance Professionals across the Trust.

A Trust email address and laptop will be provided, and this role will largely be home based.

If you have any questions about the role specifically, please contact Russha Sellings for further information: Russha.Sellings@thpt.org.uk

If you have any questions about the application process please contact the THPT Recruitment Team by email at recruitment@thpt.org.uk
