We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated, and innovative SEN Music Teacher to join our team at West Hill School. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced (minimum 3 years teaching experience) primary SEN Music teacher who can help our children to ACHIEVE as much as they possible can and FLOURISH in adult life. If you have prior experience this does not need to be from a special school and we welcome and support teachers looking to transfer from mainstream.

West Hill historically was a secondary special school supporting children with Learning and Additional Needs (LAN) from 11-16. We are now a primary only setting. The Governing Body wishes to recruit exceptional primary teachers who are confident and enthusiastic about teaching music.

Our primary children work at least 3-4 years away from age-related expectations and all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan covering a range of complex learning difficulties, including speech and language difficulties, autism and/or medical needs. Our models of learning mean that our children are based in mixed aged groups of 10-12 children. All teachers coordinate a subject.

We can offer you:
• Keen and eager children who are learning how to learn and ultimately love learning
• Friendly and support staff, parents and governors
• Varied curriculum and development opportunities
• An amazing environment in which children really thrive

Teachers at West Hill need to be team players and who embrace change as an opportunity. We are a “can do” school and we want innovation and enthusiasm to help us continue to develop our provision with us and drive forward our high standards. You will be a confident and adaptable individual who is ready to become part of our community.

If, prior to applying you are interested in finding out more about special schools or would like to see how we operate at West Hill School, you are warmly welcomed to contact Sam Crosby our School Business Manager, initially via email sbm@west-hill.surrey.sch.uk and we will be pleased to talk to you further.

THPT value their staff very highly, as reflected in the excellent retention rates across the Trust. THPT also operate an extensive Rewards and Benefits Scheme that includes Loyalty & Service Awards, consideration of relocation packages, travel allowances and grants, access to discount schemes and membership of the Teacher Pension Scheme.
