Position: Catering Assistant
Contract Type: Part-time, Permanent (Term Time Only)
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 10.45am to 2.30pm
Working Hours: 17.5 hours per week
Start Date: January 2026
We are currently looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join the catering team at Rookwood School. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for food and excellent customer service to become part of a friendly and supportive school community.

As our Catering Assistant, you will work alongside the kitchen team to support the delivery of a high-quality lunch service. You will undertake tasks as directed by the Cook and assist with food preparation, serving meals, clearing dining areas, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety. You will also carry out domestic duties to ensure the safe production of food in accordance with current food hygiene and health & safety legislation.
We are looking for a Catering Assistant who has:
• Catering experience within any food establishment
• Good understanding of commercial catering operations
• A good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP
• Enthusiasm, vision, drive, adaptability and resilience
• High personal standards, with a self-motivated and proactive approach
• Suitability to work with children
• Flexibility and a positive sense of humour
• Commitment to continued personal and professional development
