Receptionist/Administrator
Rookwood School, Andover
Start Date: Wednesday 26th August

Permanent – Part Time Term time, plus 9 additional working days during school holidays
26.25 hours per week
Monday: 8.00am – 5.00pm
Tuesday: 8.00am – 5.15pm
Thursday: 8.00am – 5.15pm

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Rookwood is looking to appoint a professional, efficient and welcoming Receptionist/Administrator to provide a high quality front of house service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors. As the first point of contact for the school, the postholder will play a key role in creating a positive impression and supporting the smooth running of the school’s administrative functions.

Nestled on a leafy site in Andover, Rookwood School is a happy and thriving learning environment for pupils aged 6 months to 18 years. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a warm, professional reception service, greeting visitors, parents and pupils
• Manage incoming telephone calls, emails and enquiries, ensuring they are handled efficiently and courteously
• Support the smooth running of the school day through accurate record keeping, including registers and visitor logs
• Maintain a presentable and welcoming reception area at all times
• Assist with a range of administrative tasks, including correspondence, pupil communication, post distribution and document preparation
• Support the coordination of clubs, activities and bookings, ensuring accurate information is shared with staff and parents
• Handle confidential information in line with data protection and safeguarding requirements
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the wider administrative needs of the school

About You – Skills, Qualities & Experience:
• GCSEs or equivalent; school experience desirable; First Aid training or willingness to train
• Good IT skills and experience in a reception, customer service or admin role
• Friendly, approachable and confident in a front of house role
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Well organised, accurate and able to manage a busy workload calmly
• Professional, reliable and aligned with the school’s values
• Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and data protection
