SEND Teacher

We are looking to appoint SEND Teachers to join Holme Court Devon in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced teachers or teachers early in their career to make a real difference working with individuals and small groups of pupils who have additional needs.

The role is full time. Starting in September 2026, we are seeking dynamic, inspirational, and highly motivated teachers to join us. You will be enthusiastic, experienced in working with pupils with ASC, SEMH and associated conditions such as sensory processing, developmental language disorder and developmental coordination disorder, and well qualified with a good understanding SEND needs.

Holme Court Devon is an independent specialist setting supporting pupils aged 7–16 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated additional needs. We provide a highly individualised, needs-led approach to education, recognising that every child presents differently and requires tailored support to engage, achieve, and thrive. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, our provision is centred around each pupil’s unique strengths, barriers to learning, communication profile, and developmental journey.

Through personalised learning pathways, therapeutic and relational approaches, highly skilled staff, and a calm, inclusive atmosphere, we support pupils to develop confidence, emotional regulation, independence, and positive relationships with learning. Our aim is to empower every child to unlock their individual potential and achieve meaningful outcomes both within education and beyond.

The successful candidate will plan and deliver a tailored curriculum to pupils aged 7 – 16 with a range of learning and communication needs.

We are looking for teachers who can;
• Under the direction of the Head, carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as set out in the current School policies.
• Uphold the professional code of the school
• Teach in accordance with the ethos, organisation and policies of the school as a fully committed member of the teaching team and as detailed in the specific duties and core standards.
• Provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with policies, procedures and practices and the standards set.

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching a generalised curriculum with an emphasis on the development of life skills including self-help, communication and self-regulation. All work will be adapted and personalised in accordance with student`s individual EHC plans.

We are looking to appoint teachers who can demonstrate the following;
• To have an awareness of Autism or to have a willingness to learn about Autism and other learning needs, and to consistently apply this to teaching and learning.
• Experience in teaching pupils with ASC and a range of comorbid conditions in either a mainstream or special school setting.
• To hold a nationally recognised qualification in understanding/ supporting learners with ASC and SEMH and/or be willing to undertake additional training /qualifications as required.
• To plan, deliver and teach individual students or small groups, in accordance with the students' individual EHCPs, the School’s Curriculum framework and related policies.
• To plan, adapt and personalise a multi-sensory curriculum for pupils.
• To monitor, record and report on student progress.
• To contribute to and help implement developments that relate to the School Development Plan.
• To promote, in line with Company policies, the physical, educational and moral development of the students.
• To contribute to the development and implementation of an environment and programme of learning for the individual student to ensure progression at an appropriate and satisfactory rate.
