This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Physical Education to join the Physical Education Department at Derby Grammar School. We are a small yet supportive team of highly committed staff.

We are looking for a Physical Education Teacher, with the ability to inspire and challenge all pupils to achieve their full potential. The successful teacher will have a passion for sport and be able to teach girls PE to pupils from reception to the 6th form. The ability to teach across the range of sports is essential, a specialism in Hockey would be looked upon favourably as will the ability to contribute to outdoor adventurous education.

Derby Grammar School is a coeducational all-through school from Reception to Sixth Form. We enjoy small class sizes and a family feel with positive and constructive working relationships with our students.

Physical Education is a popular subject at Derby Grammar School and we take great pride in supporting and encouraging our students in their education and celebrating their successes. Offering a wide range of extra curricular sports and fixtures, the Physical Education team are at the heart of the school.

At both GCSE and A Level Physical Education is extremely popular, at GCSE we offer the Edexcel specification and at A Level pupils follow the AQA course. The ability to teach at both GCSE and A Level will be looked upon favourably.

The School have substantial sports facilities that allow our students to engage and participate in sport and physical activities throughout the school day. We have our own dedicated sports centre, Rykneld Sports Centre, which provides our students with access to high-quality sports facilities during lesson time. This includes two full-sized rugby pitches, a full-sized floodlight football/hockey all weather pitch, cricket pitch, sports hall, badminton courts, basketball courts, a netball court, indoor cricket nets, and a fitness suite
