This is an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Computer Science to join Derby Grammar School. We are a small yet supportive team of highly committed staff.
We are looking for a Computer Science Teacher, with the ability to inspire and challenge all pupils to achieve their full potential. We welcome applications from ECTs as well as experienced teachers as there are opportunities for additional responsibilities.
The successful teacher will have a passion for computing and be able to teach Computing and ICT to pupils from year 7 to the 6th form. The ability to teach across the age and ability range is essential, a specialism in robotics (First Tech National Finalists 2024, 2025 and 2026) would be looked upon favourably as the school has a very popular extra curricular club in this area.
Derby Grammar School is a coeducational all-through school from Reception to Sixth Form. We enjoy small class sizes and a family feel with positive and constructive working relationships with our students.
Computer Science is a popular subject at Derby Grammar School and we take great pride in supporting and encouraging our students in their education and celebrating their successes. Facilities are good with a well furnished IT suite for departmental use. There are also well attended extra activities run by the computer science department, further enhancing the reputation of the subject at Derby Grammar School.
At both GCSE and A Level Computer Science is extremely popular, at GCSE we offer the OCR specification and at A Level pupils follow the OCR course. The ability to teach at both GCSE and A Level will be looked upon favourably.
