Catering Assistant
Hours of Work: 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9.00 -2pm
Contract term: Permanent – 52 Weeks
Start date: 13th April 2026
We are currently looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join the catering team at Warlingham Park School. This is an exciting time to join our school as our numbers and reputation grow. We are looking for someone with a passion for food who enjoys working as part of a busy team.
Based in Warlingham, Surrey, Warlingham Park Preparatory School is a truly inclusive, co-educational independent school for children aged 6 months to 11 years. Our curriculum includes creative and performing arts, modern languages and forest school and we offer a wide range of after school activities to all pupils from Reception to Year 6. Our nursery is open all year round.
As our catering assistant you will work with the kitchen team. You will undertake tasks as directed by the Cook and assist with the preparation of meals, as well as serve and clear after mealtime. You will also perform domestic duties which ensure the safe production of food relevant to current food and health safety legislation.
We are looking for a Catering Assistant who has the following qualifications & experiences:
• Catering experience within any food establishment
• Good understanding of commercial catering operation
• A good understanding of food hygiene and HACCP
• Enthusiasm, vision, drive, adaptability, and resilience
• High personal standards, self-motivated and proactive
• Suitability to work with children
• Flexible and maintain a sound sense of humour
• Commitment to continued personal and professional development
