We are seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCO) to lead the strategic development and day-to-day coordination of SEND provision at St. Francis` College.
Set in the midst of Letchworth Garden City, St. Francis' College has been providing a first-class education for girls for over 85 years, blending traditional values and a modern vision.

As the SENDCo at St. Francis` College you will be responsible for;
• Leading on the College’s SEND policy, ensuring compliance with statutory guidance.
• Overseeing the identification, assessment, and support of pupils with SEND, including maintaining the SEND register and exam access arrangements.
• Collaborating with teachers, parents, and external professionals to deliver high-quality, inclusive education.
• Training, guidance, and support colleagues in inclusive teaching strategies.
• Promoting a culture of high expectations where every pupil is supported to reach their potential.
• Teaching SEN lessons to students either one to one or in small groups.
We are looking for a SENDCO, who has a strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive teaching strategies. The ability to communicate with, staff, pupils, parents and outside agencies clearly is essential.
We welcome applications from those with a qualified SENDCO status or specialist SEN qualifications (SPLD, SEMH, ASD, ADHD) and a willingness to complete SENDCo qualification within 3 years from taking up the post. Experience of leading a team, delivering training, and working across a broad age range (3–18) is also essential.
