We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and well qualified Medical Centre Assistant/School Nurse to join the pastoral team at Saint Felix School.
Saint Felix School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for students aged from 2 to 18, located close to the glorious seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Our aim is to develop well-rounded students with the skills and the personality to make a success of their lives during and after their school years.
As our school nurse you will play a key role in the wellbeing of our students. You will provide day to day medical support to pupils of all age. In our unique setting you will also be responsible for providing medical support to our boarding pupils.
We would like to hear from experience medical professionals, being registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council is essential for this post. Having worked with children is also essential for anyone who is interested in applying. We welcome applicants from nurses who have school experience as well as those from other nursing backgrounds.
The duties of the school nurse will include but are not limited to;
• Providing basic healthcare to students in case of injury or acute illness
• Administering medicine to pupils
• Communicating with the local surgery and accompanying boarders to appointments as required when on duty.
• Working with the immunisation team to organisation vaccination clinics
• Developing and monitoring health plans for students
• Providing health promotion around the school
• Looking after day students and boarders in the medical centre should they be unable to attend school
• Communicating with parents of day and boarding students
