Job Description

Buxlow School is looking to appoint HLTAs to start in September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced teaching assistants and HLTAs to make a real difference working with a small group of pupils who have additional needs.

The role is full time starting in September 2025. You will be supporting and working with small groups of pupils who have additional needs. We are seeking dynamic, inspirational, and highly motivated individuals to join us. You will be enthusiastic, experienced, and well qualified with a good understanding SEND needs.

At Buxlow School, we believe that every child deserves a learning environment where they are understood, respected, and celebrated. Our independent school specialises in supporting children aged [5–11] with Autism Spectrum Condition and additional needs. With a personalised curriculum, highly trained staff, and a warm, inclusive atmosphere, we help each child unlock their unique potential.

As an HLTS at Buxlow School you will support a tailored curriculum to pupils aged 5 – 11.

We are looking for HLTAs who can:
• Take responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision.
• Work with identified curriculums and supporting specific subjects as well as helping with lesson planning.
• Develop learning resources, delivering lessons and supporting the assessment of learning.
• Support extra-curricular activities such as education visits and recording/reporting pupil outcomes.
• At times, be the lead practitioner in the class delivering whole class teaching without the teacher present.
