Graduate Assistant (Sports)
To start – September 2025
We are currently seeking a Graduate Assistant (Sports) to join and work within our support team at Shebbear College. The role would suit a recent graduate with a passion for sport and education.
Shebbear College is a small independent day and boarding school of around 300 pupils, for boys and girls aged from 2 – 18. Set in 85-acres of countryside between Dartmoor and Exmoor, it is an idyllic location in which to work. Class sizes are smaller than average throughout the school and we pride ourselves on knowing every pupil as an individual, recognising their potential and helping them to achieve their best, whatever that may be. The Graduate Assistant (Sports) role provides essential support to pupils and staff across academic lessons and co-curricular activities (sports, outdoor education, trips, events etc). The role will involve teaching, mentoring and promoting the general progress and well-being of individual pupils
As a Graduate Assistant you will be expected to make a significant contribution to both the delivery of PE and the coaching of sports teams.
We welcome applications from candidates with significant expertise in playing and/or coaching in one or more of our major sports (rugby, netball, hockey, football and cricket). The post holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work on occasions including sports coaching, boarding, academic support and general duties.
This role would suite recent graduates looking to gain experience in an education setting.
