Nursery Teacher
Position: Nursery Teacher or Room leader for preschool
Contract type: Full Time - 52 weeks (51-week provision)
Hours of Work: 40 hours a week
Contract term: Permanent
Start date: ASAP or May 2025
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Nursery Teacher or Room leader for preschool to join our fantastic Nursery. You will be highly creative, passionate about children’s learning in the Early Years and demonstrate high professional standards.
We are looking for a Nursery Teacher or Room leader for preschool who will be full committed to the continued growth at Little Lodge Nursery. Working alongside the Nursery Manager and Headteacher you will be responsible for the development and growth of our pupils as well as demonstrating excellent childcare practices. Prior nursery or school experience is essential for this role. You will be heavily involved in the day to day running of the nursery.
Little Lodge Nursery at Yateley Manor caters for children aged 9 months – 4 years, with specialist teachers offering an all year round provision. We offer an innovative and nurturing atmosphere in our Nursery providing a secure, gentle introduction to school life. Children quickly settle into our homely environment and soon realise that learning is fun.
The focus is on balancing active, play-based learning with carefully structured teaching. Children keenly engage in creative play, singing songs, role-play and story time as well as small group teaching of numbers, letters and even French. The Nursery is situated in an attractive, purpose-built secure building with bright, well-equipped rooms and a large and imaginatively designed outside play area.
We are looking for a fantastic Nursery Teacher who can;
• Demonstrate excellent practice in teaching the early years curriculum.
• Promote the values of the nursery the all staff, parents and children.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all staff.
• Assist with the maintenance of accurate records including occupancy to ensure growth and development.
• Assist with training and development of staff to fulfil their potential.
The successful Nursery Teacher should be passionate about all areas of children’s learning.
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications & experiences:
• Full and relevant Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in early years is desirable.
• Have recent experience within a childcare setting
• Great passion for child development and a good working knowledge of the EYFS 0-5 years curriculum.
• Experience of working in similar teaching role.
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted statutory guidance
• Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding
• Knowledge and proven practical experience of implementing good quality learning opportunities
• Ability to deliver a high standard of childcare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work productively with pupils, colleagues, parents and outside agencies
• Excellent planning, organising and time management skills
• A fantastic understanding for how a Nursery works.
• Excellent communication skills and able to work effectively in a team
