You will teach PE to pupils in Reception to Form 6 and Games to pupils in Year 3-6. The school currently offers Hockey, Rugby (tag) Football, Cricket and Tennis in the timetable.

This is a permanent part time .4 role. For the right candidate this could be over 2 days, 4 afternoons or any other combination. The role will be starting in September 2025.

Gidea Park Preparatory School and Nursery is an independent, co-educational day school for children aged 6 months to 11, where pupils get the best start possible and learn in a happy and secure environment. Founded in 1917, we have been educating, nurturing and challenging children for over 100 years. Children are at the heart of everything we do; our small classes and school environment truly allow us to know our pupils as individuals and to tailor our teaching and curriculum accordingly. We have high expectations for our pupil’s academic progress and personal development and work closely with our parents to ensure that all our pupils get the very most from their time with us.

The School has an enviable academic record and a long tradition of sending pupils to grammar and selective independent schools. But there is a great deal more to Gidea Park than just academic success. We firmly believe that happy children make better progress and to achieve this, children need to be understood, listened to and valued.

This is an exciting time for you to join our School. We are looking for a PE and Games teacher or coach who will be able to drive PE and sport forward.

To apply, you will need to have QTS or a similar qualification and be able to demonstrate your passionate for children’s learning within early years.

We are looking for a teacher who;
• Has Qualified Teacher Status or another recognised qualification and evidence of continuing professional development.
• Can deliver high quality PE teaching and learning to pupils within Key stage 1 and 2.
• Can inspire children with enthusiasm and a love of learning.
• Has knowledge of and experience teaching PE and Sport to pupils.
• Has a sound knowledge of the requirements of the national curriculum.
• Has the ability to prepare and deliver inspiring lessons that take into account the individual needs of all our pupils.
• Shows the flexibility and adaptability that is the hall mark of Gidea Park staff.
• Can enthuse pupils in all areas of sport including extra-curricular activities.
What do you get in return for your hard work?

In addition to playing an important role in a great school, you will receive a competitive salary. There will also be ample professional development and training opportunities during your time at Gidea Park, including ongoing coaching from the management team, with the prospect of career and salary progression as our school grows.

This role would provide you with the opportunity to make a real difference at Gidea Park Prep.
