Unqualified Early Years Practitioner
To start – April 2025
We are currently looking for a passionate individual to join us as an Unqualified Early Years Practitioner at Shebbear College. With our nursery opening in April, we are seeking an Unqualified Early Years Practitioner to work towards establishing our provision as the best in the area.
Shebbear College is a small independent day and boarding school of around 300 pupils, for boys and girls aged from 2 – 18. Set in 85-acres of countryside between Dartmoor and Exmoor, it is an idyllic location in which to work. Class sizes are smaller than average throughout the school and we pride ourselves on knowing every pupil as an individual, recognising their potential and helping them to achieve their best, whatever that may be. We are looking for an Unqualified Early Years Practitioner who can inspire, excite and nurture children through a crucial stage of their development. Linking closely with the school you will play a key role in the development of our pupils ensuring a happy and successful start to their educational journey. Working closely with the Nursery Leader you will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the nursery.
If you are able to demonstrate the following we would welcome your application;
• Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
• The ability to inspire our pupils with enthusiasm and a love of learning
• A knowledge of the requirements of the Early Years curriculum
• The ability to plan and prepare engaging and stimulating activities for pupils or every ability.
• Ability to positively impact pupils in every aspect of their education including pastoral care.
• Ability to encourage learning and development, through play and teaching.
• Can create a secure environment, using imagination to help children to learn
• Can work with parents and carers to support their children
• Enable children to build their literacy, language and numeracy skills
• Monitor progress to enable planning
• Put together activities which will keep the children engaged throughout the day
As a practitioner you should be passionate about all areas of children’s learning.
