Yateley Manor is currently seeking to appoint a passionate and well qualified Science Teacher.
Yateley Manor is a leading co-educational independent school in the town of Yateley, North Hampshire. The School continues to thrive as an independent all through school for children aged 2 to 16, having recently expanded its provision to be 2 to 16 by September 2026.
The school’s reputation for academic excellence and a relentless focus on opportunities to build confidence for the future is well supported. The school is non-selective and a member of IAPS. Class sizes are small and teaching areas bright and purposeful. Facilities at the school include an indoor swimming pool, large sports hall, woodland learning area, climbing wall, tennis courts and playing fields.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, inspiring, committed, and qualified teacher of Science to work with our strong Science. The successful candidate should be able to teach across the whole age range up to Year 11, and ability range. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the future development of the subject both within the curriculum and in terms of performance.
Science as a core subject is taught up to GCSE. The ability to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics is essential. Experience of teaching the Edexcel science curriculum would be looked upon favourably, as would experience teaching single sciences and well as the combined course.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
• To be a part of the developing vision of the department through the delivery of effective lessons and exciting performance opportunities throughout the school.
• To teach the department’s specification and schemes of work alongside development plans and departmental policies.
• Ensure the students are fully supported, academically and pastorally.
• To have a working knowledge of the department’s chosen specifications
• Have knowledge of pupil’s achievements during previous year groups or schools to ensure that this is?used effectively to monitor student’s attainment to secure good progress in Science.
• To reflect on their own teaching skills and provide feedback to other members of the department and take appropriate action to improve further the quality of teaching and learning
• Ensure assessment, curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in the subject for pupils of all ages and abilities, including special educational needs and English as an additional language.
• To monitor progress and evaluate the effects of any improvement strategies on teaching and learning, analysing work and outcomes
• Communicating and consulting with the parents and outside agencies?through reports and at Parents’ Evenings
• To ensure that internal examinations and assessments are set and marked by the required date and that results are entered into the school management system
• Teach the theory and practical requirements according to curriculum and GCSE specifications
• Plan and teach interesting and engaging lessons in keeping with the Science curriculum.
