Job Description

Nursery: The Orchard Day Nursery Kew Bridge

Position: Deputy Nursery Manager, Full-Time

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Location: Brentford, London

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Reports to: Nursery Manager


We are looking for a full time, qualified Practitioner to join our Early Years Team as a Deputy Manager. The Orchard Day Nursery is conveniently located right next to Kew Bridge station, with great links to London.

**The role will be partly office-based and partly room-based, this is an active role in the nursery and not purely administrative.**

Working at our Nursery

The Orchard Day Nursery Kew is one of a group of nurseries owned by the Inspired Learning Group, one of UK’s largest and foremost providers of nurseries and preparatory schools. It is a branch of our Orchard Day Nursery Wimbledon, which has been running successfully in south London for a number of years. We aim to recognise the individual needs of every child making us a secure and stimulating environment. We firmly believe that every child is an individual and deserves the best.

Rooms: Babies (Under 2 years), Toddlers (2 to 3 years), Preschool (4 to 5 years)
Opening Times: 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, 51 weeks per year


About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to progress and work alongside our passionate and experienced nursery manager. This would be the ideal role for anyone looking for responsibility or someone wishing to progress before becoming a nursery manager.

You will:

Help to plan, create, and implement engaging activities for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
Have autonomy to lead and progress the nursery and be instrumental in its continued growth and success.
Play a key role in the day to day running of the nursery as well as financial operations, recruitment, and training and development of staff.
Partner with the Nursery Manager to lead and deliver a high standard of childcare for all children.
Demonstrate a knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted statutory guidance and put the correct provisions and resources in place.
Communicate productively with pupils, colleagues, and parents to lead staff and represent the nursery to prospective and current parents.
Keep a record of the children’s progress to share with the parents and other carers.
Provide professional support and guidance to the nursery team and work collaboratively to implement high quality learning opportunities.
Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and hygiene, as well as following child protection and safeguarding guidelines.

About You

Full and Relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (essential)
Previous experience working with children (ideally as a Nursery Nurse, Nursery Practitioner, Early Years Educator, Nursery Assistant or similar), especially in a leadership capacity.
Enthusiasm for making learning fun and engaging for each child.
Ability to use a variety of techniques to clearly and successfully communicate with both children and adults
Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the Early Years Framework.
